The Johns Hopkins University Psychological and Brain Sciences Department, in collaboration with the Undergrad
uate Psychology Steering Committee is pleased to offer a one-credit “Careers in Psychology” course for the Fall 2009 semester. This course will serve as an introduction to the varied career paths offered across the field of psychology, hosting a diverse representation of speakers from various Johns Hopkins institutions & the local Baltimore community. Lectures will focus on the different areas and fields within psychology including, but not limited to, experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, counseling and therapy, clinical psychology, child psychology, mental health, neuropsychology, biopsychology, forensics, psychiatry, clinical research, social work, behavioral medicine, addiction services, industrial psychology, and much, much more!!
The course will also feature lectures dedicated to the different degrees you can earn in psychology and related fields, the graduate school application process, the internship and research process, and will also host a panel of graduate students who will provide tips and advice.
This course is open to ALL students, (all majors, all years) especially psychology majors and those who are currently “undecided.”
