Active Minds @JHU
Active Minds is the nation’s only grassroots organization dedicated to the mental health of college students. The organization serves as the young adult voice in mental health advocacy on campuses nationwide.
The Johns Hopkins University Active Minds Chapter aims to increase awareness about mental health issues, decrease the stigma surrounding them, provide students with resources and information, encourage anyone in need to ask for help, and act as a liaison between the Counseling Center and student body.
Advocacy Education Involvement
Annual Campus-Based Activities @ JHU Include:
- Mental Health Awareness Week (Beginning of October)
- National Day Without Stigma
- Send Silence Packing
- National Stress Out Day
- Relaxation Fair
- “Stomp Out Stigma” Event
- “Break the Silence” Coffeehouse Event
- Speaker Panels, Community Walks, and Fundraising
The JHU Campus Chapter of Active Minds meets on Mondays at 6:30 pm in Mattin 161 during the academic year.
